Lots of strange things happened at the Yankee game tonight.
Randy Johnson struck out people and didn't give up hits. Bobby Abreu hit a home run. On the other hand, some things stayed the same. Kyle Farnsworth let a team back into the game. Mariano Rivera got a save. Derek Jeter got a hit and a stolen base.
My point? There is none. Just that it's good to beat the defending world champions no matter how you have to do it.
In other Yankee notes:
Michael Kay answers a baseball etiquette question by using slaves and the Holocaust as analogies. He had a point in disagreeing with the caller, but my God. What makes it worse is he apparently was yelling, so he couldn't even be accused of being glib or somehow making a serious comparision (or on the flip side, exaggerating for effect).
The Yankee fan who jumped from the upper deck on to the netting last year was banned from the park forever. I barely remembered this until I got through the story.
And not related at all, but Heidi Klum is what, in her 45th year of wowing the world with her good looks? That's from the latest Esquire issue, apparently.
