Afternoon Baseball

Nothing like Anna Benson and Kris Benson to warm the heart of a Yankees fan. A woman Jeter would never ever date and a pitcher the Yanks would never ever sign (even if Jaret Wright slipped through). Let's get our hands on...er, review the Anna Benson news.

Well, ESPN.com has their annual, highly anticipated Sex and Sports feature. Anna Benson, dubiously successful wife of the dubiously high-paid, dubiously first-name Mets pitcher Kris Benson, gets a nice shout-out for her odd way of retracting her threat to sleep with everyone in the Mets organization if Kris was caught cheating. What a relief for Mike Piazza, right?? Haha, sorry.

MLB.com reports that Kris Benson played Santa Claus for kids. How nice. Anna was apparently Mrs. Claus, but there's no pictures of her. Reminds me of this party I went to sophomore year, but anyways. They also report that the last two Mets' Santas were John Franco and Mike Cameron, both of whom were out after the following season. Luckily, the New York Times comes through with an Anna photo!!! (the article probably won't be visible in a week or so). The NY Daily News also contributes.

Speaking of leaving New York, Bensons times 2 have been in the news lately for the rumors that the Mets were looking to deal Kris for a player with a man's name. Or spelling. Anna was not happy, and Yard Work was only too happy to give her a forum.
