Despite my recent post about the dangers of too much listening to music through headphones, I keep doing so. I've always had better-than-average hearing on low frequencies and slightly-below-average peak high frequency, and you lose the high end first, so I figure I'm already ahead of that game.
But the experience is much different. Listening to something like Hendrix or Cream, you hear instruments only in one ear. And not just two guitars in opposite ears, a la McCready and Gossard of Pearl Jam or Hammett and Hetfield of Metallica. Instead, you're only hearing drums or bass or guitar or vocals strongly in one ear, and faintly or not at all in the other. It's odd at first, but in some ways makes you focus more.
Sorry, "I Feel Free" by Cream came on the Itunes shuffle, and I got caught up in that. This is a random blog, after all.
