Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

It's about time the press covered one of these. There's been a couple other guys suspended over the last few months, but because they were marginal guys shuttling between the bigs and Triple-A, they got no coverage.
Maybe Raffy was duped. But baseball's policy isn't even as strict as football's, much less the Olympic testing policy. So I'm not sure what he could have "accidentally" used. Baseball probably won't release the data, either, so we'll not know for a long time (probably until a week after his HOF induction).

EDITS: My old roommate Dave discussed how he, like so many others, truly believed in Raffy when he so angrily denied steroid accusations. Also, he reflects the disbelief many have now that Jose Canseco may have a bit of credibility after all.
The HOF debate over Raffy is, as it as was around the time of his 3,000 hit, premature. Let's wait 5 or 6 years and see.
