Baseball Musings: Morgan Moronics
There's an article, available here, that's discussed. An absolute diatribe, a manifesto, if you will, on what he considers Joe Morgan's irrelevance and unknowledgable stances. Except that for what Morgan does lack in respect for sabermetrics, the author seems to lack in any consideration of Morgan as a human being or for the point that Morgan seems to be making, albeit not very eloquently. Morgan's point? Not that stats don't matter, but that you can't dissect baseball solely by sitting in front of a computer. Watching the game, and knowing what to look for, counts for a lot too.
Still doesn't make Morgan a great broadcaster, and he should realize that the two approaches can work hand-in-hand. But it doesn't make him an asshole who deserves to be thrown out of the game, as the author more or less says many times.
P.S. I also have a couple comments on the Baseball Musings post.
