Going to see Muse on April 16 at Cole Fieldhouse at the University of Maryland. It's going to be a defining moment of college, I feel. So looking forward to that.
The Mars Volta, reviewed before mainstream media as per usual when The Greyhound is concerned, have an awesome single in "The Widow." Maybe it sounds like something that's come out in the last few years, and that's why it sounds familar, but it honestly is the type of song I've been waiting on for a while. Dramatic, big instruments and big vocals without overstaying its welcome.

Also, Megadeth released an album last September that got little notice. I only knew about it when their song "Kick The Chair" was featured on MTV's Headbangers Ball Vol. 2 which my brother got. Man, what a song. And less than four minutes without all the awful drumming of the '80s Megadeth, so it's the best of their thrash days with slightly better production and a better feel for making songs.
Honestly, the best song they've done in a long, long time. And far better than anything any above-ground metal band has done in a while too*.
The album is solid, too, although bizarre and self-centered in typical Dave Mustaine style. But that's too be expected.
EDIT: Also, on Santana's Supernatural hit album (the one that swept the Grammys), the last song is an instrumental with Clapton. But at about the 8 min. mark, there's a hidden track that has probably the best guitar playing on the album. Actually riffage from Santana instead of just supporting guitar lines, multiple melodies, and a couple wicked solos, including some great effects as the song fades out.
*Except for maybe Metallica's "Frantic." That song came completely out of left field after the Load and ReLoad releases, not to mention "I Disappear."
