Common-sense ruminations on baseball and culture.

Bobby Abreu Statistics - Baseball-Reference.com

I just mentioned him when talking about Beltran. No one mentions this guy in discussions of the best players in the game.

1. He's missed only 41 games in his 7 full seasons.
2. His career numbers: .305/.412/.517.
3. 5 years of 100 runs and 1 year of 99 runs to go with 3 100 RBI seasons and 6 .300 years.
4. 2 30-HR years; both campaigns had over 30 steals.
5. 6 straight years of over 100 walks and 35 doubles.
6. Best power/speed number in the NL in 2004 (albeit, 2nd to Beltran overall).

If you want consistency in performance on all levels and guy who doesn't need recognition to perform, Abreu is your guy.
