ESPN.com: Page 2 - Can't compare Nomar to Jeter

The biggest Boston fan ever, Bill Simmons, has ripped Nomar again, essentially saying he's not in Jeter's league and hasn't been for some time.
He's right, of course. Jeter has 4 rings and big playoff performances even in losing efforts; Nomar went 12 games or so without a playoff RBI.
It's not really Nomar's fault, though. That injury he suffered ruined him. I mean, people forget this guy hit over .370 as a right-handed hitter. If you aren't Joe DiMaggio, that doesn't happen anymore. And Nomar plays for the Red Sox, so playoff failure is doomed to happen no matter what he does. It's simply out of his hands.

At the same time, I'd still take Nomar as the Yankees second baseman next year, not even because he'd be much of an upgrade but more because it would infuriate Red Sox fans.
More likely, though, he'll head to the West Coast. The Angels seriously need a shortstop--David Eckstein is not the answer, and teams don't win in the last decade without a bonafide shortstop, excepting the Florida Marlins.
